My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Men's health
Mental health and suicide prevention

I never understood depression and was one of those people who would comment with things like "what have they got to be depressed about" This was until i had a mental break down. It has been around 15 years since that day my world came crashing down, sure there was a lead up to it but i did not recognise it for what it was and people around me probably did not see the signs.

Mental health does not have physical signs at the start and for some it never does, but it's like a shadow that creeps up on you in a way like the sun setting as you slowly find yourself in a dark place. Depression effects not only you but people around you. I was extremely lucky to have a supportive wife looking after me during these dark times. For me the hardest day was when i completely broke down and had to confess to her that i was about to walk out the door and never come back and the thought of leaving my wife and son terrified me. With the help of my wife, counsellor and tablets i battled through.

This was never a life lesson i expected to get but in a way it's one i would not be without if i can lend an ear to those that need to talk then i am happy to oblige.

How I'm
getting involved
Medway Rugby Tashe Tickles
Team captain Jamie Settle
£20 Team funds raised

To improve my own health i will be running in the evenings when i can and continue to play rugby and take part in other activities. I hope to walk, jog and run at least 50km this month

On Saturday 19th Movember, Mo Bros Rugby and Kew Occasionals will once again do battle in the name of men's health.

Last year's match ended 39-38 to the visiting team, so you know it's going to be another cracking competition this year. Come along to see highly skilled, moustachioed men chucking a rugby ball about, all in the name of men's health.
Kick off is 14:00 at Richmond Athletic Ground, with the bar open before, during and after! We will then pile into the clubhouse for the England vs. New Zealand game at 17:30, and party the night away…

It's mid-month and the Mos are coming through strong. Farnham RUFC lead the way in the Sports Challenge fundraising leaderboard as I write, but where do you feature?

Don't forget to thank your donors and give potential donors an extra incentive to donate; an example of a Movember funded project, a special thanks from you, or simply because of the terrible itch your moustache is giving you. Thanks sporting Mos, we are over £200,000 raised and going strong!
