My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Men's health
Mental health and suicide prevention

This November, Daniel and Josh have teamed up to support Movember once more and put themselves to the test in order to raise awareness in the ever present issue of Men's Health and the growing impact of Prostate and Testicular Cancer. These factors have a huge impact on mental health and has led to the year on year growth of suicides for men within the UK.

Movember encourages others to be different, show your Mo to show the solidarity to other bros. Movember enables people to have the courage to communicate with each other and voice those inner demons that come up from time to time. The truth is that, in today's society, this doesn't happen enough and sadly, men specifically are turning to suicide instead of seeking the help from others. With the decline in Male Mental Health and the increase of diseases such as Prostate Cancer, we need to raise awareness and get people talking before it's too late.

Go and tell your friend you are there for them, they are not alone. You never know who needs to hear that today.

Josh - “The conversations between men has started but it needs to grow!! Having suffered with my own share of mental health bouts and watching loved ones suffer the terrible challenges cancer brings, I’ve challenged myself this year with Dan to raise awareness, spark conversation and put the MO on show in support of every man this November!"

Daniel -"Mental Health has always been something I've been aware of and something I have battled as I grew up. Having people to speak to and the support of an amazing wife, friends and great family has helped me in those darker times. I have good days, I have anxious days and it's those small contacts with peers that help shake the tree a little and snap those important factors back to reality. Movember means a lot to me as it's an opportunity for others to talk and it encourages those who may struggle to seek help. It's the least I can do to wear a moustache for the month when others are struggling with cancer, poor mental health and battling day in day out.

On the 22nd November at Crossfit Truro, Josh and Daniel will be hosting a Movember CrossFit Morning and rowing a Marathon whilst doing three back to back workouts themed with Movember statistics to raise further awareness and encouraging people to come and support.

While the workouts are on, Daniel and Josh will be rowing a Marathon alongside, jumping in and out to complete the workouts as well. This equates to 42,195m and will mean the boys are on the rower for around 3-4 hours between them. We will be selling cakes, playing games and doing a raffle for prizes to raise additional money and support the boys as they row!

Please feel free to even drop by for a cake and a chat. It's those conversations that are the most important.

10,000 Men die a year to Prostate Cancer in the UK.

Every 45 Seconds One Man Dies in the UK to Prostate Cancer.

Men die 3.5 years younger than women in the UK.

1 conversation could save someone's life and prevent suicide.

With these numbers and other statistics in mind, we have used them throughout the workouts for some added motivation.

The Workouts on the day will be:

Twas the night before Movember, when all through the land,
Not a whisker was stirring, not one single strand.
The razors were readied by the sink with care,
In hopes that a smooth-to-be face would soon be there.
The Mo Bros and Sisters were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of Mo glory ran through their heads.

Yes folks, the hairiest month of the year begins TOMORROW!!

Hopefully all the plans for your team’s campaigns are in place, and if not – there is still time to recruit, make plans and build hype. Last year the sports challenge made a serious impact, and we’re gonna do it all again this year.

BE THE DIFFERENCE IN MOVEMBER 2024!
