Our Motivation

This Movember, the Newcastle Uni Surf Club are putting down the boards and picking up the razors — all for an awesome cause.

Movember is all about raising awareness and funds for men’s mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer — issues that hit close to home for a lot of us. Too many men still bottle things up, and that needs to change.

As a surf club, we’ve seen firsthand how much community matters. The sea keeps us grounded, and our mates keep us going — whether it’s early mornings in freezing water, long drives to find waves, or post-surf pints. We look out for each other, and that’s what Movember is all about too: checking in, opening up, and starting conversations that could literally save a life.

We’re taking part this year because we want to do our bit to support the lads, mates, brothers and dads who might be struggling in silence. Every donation helps fund amazing programs that make a real difference for men’s health and wellbeing.

So, this month, expect some dodgy moustaches, plenty of laughs, plenty of waves, and hopefully some solid fundraising along the way. Help us make a splash for Movember — donate, share, and spread the word. Let’s ride this wave together
