Our Motivation

As a club, we are raising money to support ever-present battles which men face everyday across the world.

1) Mental Health. Many men suffer in silence and struggle to reach out. We are supporting Movember to raise funds for suicide prevention and awareness for Men that don't know where to turn. This is something that has touched us all at Mech Eng, in one way or another, and we want to support anyone who is struggling. Male suicide is the biggest killer in men under 50 and as a club, we encourage all of our boys to speak out and check up on eachother.

2)Prostate cancer. Being the most common cancer in males, we are raising money that will go towards research into prevention and cure. 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lives. Statistically, that means potentially 4 of the boys in our club could one day be diagnosed with prostate cancer . This shocking figure puts into perspective how important the Movember funded research is.

3)Testicular cancer. The Movember money raised goes towards supporting young men who have had testicular cancer, get back to being healthy and living long lives. As a club we strongly promote regular checks and understanding the importance of early diagnosis.
