Our Motivation

Right then. Welcome to The Absolute Amateurs! The challenge was first suggested by Josh Stainthorpe several months ago to raise awareness of mens mental health and the difficulty men have talking about it. Josh, Sam and Danny are all ex Royal Marines and have witnessed first hand the challenges men face in communicating their battles with mental health, not only in their time as servicemen but in their new careers also. The rest of the team is made up of a mixture of like minded men who have similar experiences of mental health with Fathers, brothers, friends and also personal struggles. It’s shocking the amount of men, young and old, attempting and many succeeding in committing suicide. Our aim, more than anything, is to raise awareness and to get men talking about their problems rather than trying to be a MAN and getting on with it.

We are attempting to complete the National 3 Peaks challenge. This includes summiting the largest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales. Ben Nevis, Scarfell Pike and Snowdon. All in a period of 24 hours. Obviously, we would like to raise as much money as we can but our ultimate goal is to make people aware of mens mental health and get men talking.

Thank you for your support and any donation is much appreciated.

Please log in for updates on our training. Highs and lows.

Let’s get MEN talking!!

Hey - me again

Did you know that you're one of our top fundraising teams after your challenge in September?
Your fundraising means we were able to invest £5.7M million in Scaling What Works; a grant fund that aims to supercharge mental health initiatives that have shown promise in improving mental health and wellbeing for young boys and men.  You can find out more about the 7 UK projects on our website.

If there is anything we can do to help make this Movember a success, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
