Our community is the most dedicated, original and driven bunch of Mo's around - and you're one of them. Without their contribution to Movember, we just couldn't do what we do for men's health. They write songs, they host shave downs, they dress up, they bake treats, they create art, they run races, they go out of their comfort zones and just do everything they possibly can to make Movember their own - for that they deserve massive respect. Here are just a few hairy highlights from the community and our heroes of Movember.
Movember Dodgeball Tournament
For a 2nd year in a row, the guys at Dodgeball UK and the Powerleague Pitches in Shoreditch, London hosted the Official Movember Dodgeball Tournament, donating their time, space and expertise. This sporting extravaganza brought together Mo teams from the world of professional sport, big city firms, local engaged Mo teams, PR Agencies, Movember Staff and regular Mo Bros and Mo Sistas who just wanted to get MOVE-ing and raise some funds and awareness for men’s health. With a DJ, halftime band, giveaways and entry fee consisting a donation to your own team captain’s Mo Space, this event
got the blood pumping, some funds raised and lots of balls flung.
After a tense final, this year's winners were Wasps MoBros
Mo Menagerie
Some Mo Bros like to be unique, but these guys just had to take it to the next level. Check out the cat, the crocodile and the kangaroo in this triplet of Mo'd up animals from our Mo Bros around the world. Wild stuff.
Ouseburn Coffee: Fund-Roasters
They are the first independent roasters that ever graced the city of Newcastle and they launched their Made in Movember coffee, donating a £1 of every bag sold and giving out conversations for free. Ouseburn Coffee Company have distributed this custom Mo coffee to cafes in the city and right up to Glasgow and Edinburgh and down to Sunderland and Durham.
Grow a Mo like a Samurai
The Mo Bros at Japan Centre created a competition to win some great Japan-themed prizes for the best picture someone tweeted them of their Mo and their best samurai/warrior face using #SamuraiMo. They could be a devilish war face, or a solemn, respectively face of a warrior at rest. They were also giving out growing tips, such as seaweed, kelp and green tea all stimulate hair growth – no proof as of yet, but who knows.
Keep an eye on their competition here and see who will seize victory.
The Running of the Mo's
A great day for serious runners and weekend warriors alike, the MoRunning events are a great opportunity to challenge yourself and those around you to do a little extra something for your health and take part in your own MOVE event... all whilst having fun and supporting the Mo.
Thanks to everyone in the 14 locations across the UK and Ireland who dusted off the sweatbands, stretched out those hammies, and pounded the pavement to help raise vital funds and awareness for men's health in 2014.
Check out their website for run highlights, news and what it's all about.
