My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Prostate cancer
Mental health and suicide prevention

In the past few years two of my close family members have been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Thankfully as the diagnoses were early, surgery was successful for them both.

Raising awareness and funding research has saved both their lives and livelihoods.

My ancestors weren't so fortunate as awareness and understanding of the disease was much poorer:

My father died age 76 just as investigation into prostate problems were beginning...

HIS father died age just 60 because prostate cancer had spread throughout his body...

And HIS father died age 70 following surgery for prostate cancer.

Prostate Cancer can run in families, so if you're male, over 45 and a brother, father or uncle have had prostate cancer, start talking to your GP about it.

I first started raising awareness of prostate cancer through Movember 14 years ago and have come across many whose lives have been drastically altered by it.

Prostate Cancer is the second most common cancer in men worldwide. The Movember Foundation is working to cut the number of deaths from prostate cancer by half by 2030 and I want to help them meet that goal.

Men's mental health and work toward the prevention of male suicide seriously need your support too so that we can stop our brothers, fathers, grandfathers, partners, sons and mates dying before their time. Please give as you are able.

Killed in action Tunisia, March 1943.

I somehow doubt I'll reach this degree of excellence!
