My motivation

Men’s mental health is an uphill battle for so many, so I’ll be climbing my own 8,849m challenge - the equivalent of Mount Everest - to raise funds and awareness for this important cause.

Every day, so many men struggle silently with mental health and neurodivergence, often shaped by unrealistic and unfair expectations of how men “should” be. It’s time for that to change.

This challenge is inspired by the three most important men in my life. They have all faced their own battles, often hidden from view, and have carried them with strength and resilience. They remain some of the strongest, kindest and most inspiring people I know and I’m proud of them every day. They’ve always been there for me, and this is one way I want to stand beside them and show them just how amazing they are.

We all have men we love in our lives, friends, partners, family, who may be struggling silently, who haven’t spoken up yet, or who have carried things alone in the past, and so this is for them too.

Men’s mental health simply isn’t talked about enough. I want to be part of changing that, helping to create a world where men feel safe to speak, to struggle, and to be supported without judgement.

So, the climb begins. I’ll be rocking colourful braids in place of a trusty tash and starting as many conversations as I can along the way. And if I reach my £1,000 goal, I’ll be getting a tattoo too—my very own moustache for Movember!

Anything you can give to support the men we love would mean so much
