My motivation

At the start of the year, a day after his birthday, we lost my dad to prostate cancer.

He had been living with the disease since 2021 and had given it his all during that time. It wasn’t a battle or a gladiatorial fight. It was an everyday struggle, and there were enormously tough times we all went through. However, he persisted right until the end. Never lost his quick wit, which he was so well known for, and that was the most admirable thing to witness.

Next month, I'll be attempting to run 100km over the duration of the month... as well as growing my tache out.

Anyone who knows me is aware of how much I complain about running. For me, it's one of the hardest activities you can engage in and I get almost no joy from it. It's slow, repetitive and not remotely ADHD friendly. However, when I was thinking of a challenge to push my limits, it was a pretty easy decision.

I'm aiming to raise £300 and beyond, to aid ongoing research and support for services focussed on Prostate cancer. A disease which will impact 1 in every 8 men.

I've no doubt the image of me limping along would make dad laugh. So, if you'd like to laugh with him please donate! If you can't donate, then please share ❤️

We only met your Dad once but thoroughly enjoyed his company. He was a fantastic colleague for our daughter Kate. He would have been justifiably proud of your achievement.

First ever 10km race, and 10km closer to the finish line.

I definitely pushed a little too hard but all my stats were great, even if my legs were hurting from the 3km mark.

Watch time 50min 15secs. Still waiting on my chip time

Slightly faster this time but mentally felt a lot worse. Lower back was killing me and I had to crank the music up full blast to distract myself.

Running for those can't, by someone who'd rather not

WE HIT THE TARGET IN 4 DAYS!

Thanks to everyone who has donated to my ridiculous challenge. I've no doubt your donations will be put to work in the best way possible.

I've extended the target to £650, and I'll be thinking of an additional stretch goal.

Maybe something fancy dress related

Note: As donations can be made privately, not all donations are displayed to the public.
