My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Mental health and suicide prevention

My personal relationship with mental health, was born out of an ultimately unsuccessful 10 year struggle, with my wife, to have our own family.

Having lost friends who weren't so lucky with their challenges, I am committed to 3 events this year in support of Movember, the leading charity changing the face of men's health:

- L'Etape du tour de France, 6th July - Nice - Col d la Couillole (138.8km / 4,598m elevation gain) - COMPLETED 8:27:30
- Ironman Barcelona, 6th October - 3.9km swim + 180.2km bike ride + 42.2km run - COMPLETED 11:36:31
- New York Marathon, 3rd November - 42km run

The challenge is to undertake some of the most iconic and challenging, publicly accessible endurance events.

I love mass participation sporting events. They are the culmination of some of the purest, deeply personal motivations and the reward for vision, commitment and dedication in the preparation. Making it to the start line for any of these events is an achievement in itself. It is, however, the support of family and friends that makes them that extra bit special on the day.

If you are in town for any of my events, please come along and support, otherwise, spare a thought for me on the day.

Together we can make a difference – in prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Help me stop men dying too young.

A close friend has just been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and is just about to undergo chemo. Your post today made me click the link, to quote an old DM "Well done young man"
