I'm raising funds and awareness this Movember for all the dads, brothers, sons and mates in our lives. I only found out last week through listening to talksport that I'm 2.5 times more likely to get prostate cancer compared to the average man. How about you? How about your Dad? How about your brother? How about your best friend?

We need to raise awareness because this terrible disease is completely curable IF its found at the right time! If you are in a high risk group (your father had it or you are black - or both!) and you are aged 45 or over, you can request to have a PSA test with your GP. They shouldn't refuse, but if they do ask for a second opinion from another GP. If you are 50 or over and you are not in a high risk group, you can still ask for a PSA test. Do not wait until you have symptoms - you might have it even if you don't feel like you do!

In the United Kingdom, movember's project partners include Prostate Cancer UK. These partners, along with Movember managed men's health projects, ensure that donations support a broad range of innovative, world-class initiatives.

All funds distributed to their men's health partners are restricted to use in Movember approved projects only. The rest of the funds go towards the administrative and fundraising costs which help to ensure Movember can keep running.
