My story.

For years, I battled with my mental health until it reached a breaking point. After a breakdown, I faced a stark choice: seek help or continue down a destructive path. I chose the former, driven by a desire to overcome self-sabotage, imposter syndrome, and feelings of unworthiness.

Alcohol had become a crutch, a way to escape reality. I wasn't drinking for fun; I was using it to numb the pain. This had a devastating impact on my relationships and overall well-being. I was letting my mental health control my life. Now, I've been sober for over 3 months and I'm looking to continue that!

Seeking professional help was a turning point. My GP was incredibly supportive, diagnosing me with depression. It was a relief to finally have a name for what I'd been experiencing.

Medication has been instrumental in my recovery. I feel clearer, calmer, and more focused on the positive aspects of my life. While I know that depression is a lifelong challenge, I'm hopeful that my story can inspire others, especially men, to seek help and take control of their mental health.

I'm a big believer in "it's ok to not be ok" and I feel very strongly about sharing how we feel.

Over the last couple of years, thanks to your generosity, we've raised over £1600. I'm starting Movember in October this year because I'm keen the message is carried for longer!

Let's set a target of £400 and round that total up to £2000!!
