My motivation

Fundraising for cause areas including:

Men's health
Prostate cancer
Testicular cancer
Mental health and suicide prevention

In April 2026 I will be taking on the Paris Marathon with one of my best mates.

This charity for me means a lot, it’s helped bring me closer to people by starting conversations all because of a pretty average moustache.

Movember’s support of men’s health is massive and is something which doesn’t stop. Some of the research that your donations will fund is massively important and to those of you who’ve donated previously it’s contributed massively and I thank you again.

Recently I had a very open conversation with my mate around mental health. One thing we unanimously agreed on was how important talking is. It’s not easy but its importance can’t be overestimated as we agreed we’d much rather meet for 5 minutes, or chat for 5 minutes with someone on the phone compared to the alternative of attending their funeral - a stark reality in some cases. Thankfully something I’ve never had to experience and one I never hope to either.

Now for some reason there’s an unspoken bond between people with moustaches, there’s a mutual appreciation which can’t be explained. Each person has one for their own reasons but these are just a few of mine. Also Caroline isn’t a fan as we all know, but she definitely does understand why I have it and what it means.

So while I will no doubt struggle through training and the race, if that short struggle can help someone who is truly struggling a lot more than me then it’s well worth every second in my eyes.
