My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Men's health
Mental health and suicide prevention

Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men's health, and this Movember I'm joining them. I might not be able to gro’ a mo’ but I’m going to move 6.0 miles a day to pay tribute to the 60 men an hour who lose their lives to suicide. Together we can make a difference for men's health – in prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Please consider helping me stop men dying too young.

I walked 7 mi

The end of my first MOVEmber which has seen me moving many more miles than I would otherwise have done during this dark and wet month. So thanks to Steve Horne for getting us on board and for getting us talking about Men’s Health and Mental Health; thanks to the SIAS team for the motivation to get out of bed too early; thanks to all those who have sponsored me and final thanks to my constant companion, Nala.

I walked 7.1 mi

My last early morning walk! (On leave tomorrow and Monday). Tried to get Nala to pose. Failed! May also have snuck out for a longer walk at lunch in order that I could make ‘Happy Hour’!

I walked 6.7 mi

Only the 2nd time I’ve had to resort to the cross trainer. An hour of boredom (= 3miles) then battled the winds with the hound for her morning ablutions. Tonight was much more civilised. Here’s a terrible picture of me, the moon and Nala (well her collar!!)

I walked 6.1 mi

As I’ve managed to complete my 6.0 miles before lunch does that mean that I can spend the afternoon watching sport?!

Weather turned for the worse, so did the minimum necessary after work to get my 6.0 miles under my belt for the day

Blowing a hooley this morning! But at least it wasn’t raining and I managed to get my 3.5miles in. Now to breakfast!

This month I will mostly be walking in the dark! I won’t post daily but will log my ‘moves’ and maybe post a photo if the sun ever shines! Slight whiplash from yesterday’s fall means sits-ups are off limits for a few days!!
