Men's health

Welcome to My Movember Campaign.

Movember's 'Real Face' report published this year outlines some really worrying statistics. Here are two for you:

- In the UK men die on average 4 years earlier than women. This disparity is due to men being disproportionately affected by avoidable causes of death.

- The UK is one of only two countries from the G7 that has seen a decrease in male life expectancy over the past 10 years.

Men's health in the UK is still not being taken seriously, evidence of this is the lack of a men's health strategy and a men's health secretary. My personal motivation focuses on mental health and suicide prevention, however having read the 'Real Face' report it is clear that all aspects of men's health require attention. This month I'm hoping to start some important conversations and raise a bit of money for a cause that I care passionately about.

Thank you,

Bruno

Hi Everyone,
Now that the month of November has passed, on behalf of your ambassadors Patrick and Callum, we just wanted to say the biggest thank you to each and every individual who took part in this years campaign.
We have had some absolutely amazing events throughout the month including our 24-hour relay, Mo-darts, weekly sea plunges, and many more. Not to mention aswell all the amazing individual events and challenges hosted by societies and individuals within the University- you guys truly are amazing.
Notably, i would also like to shoutout Bilal, Rosie, John, Josh, Annabel, Jodie, Fionn, and Alex who we have been blessed to have on our committee this year. Each person has shown truly amazing passion during the months and their efforts have been nothing short of outstanding- they have been a core part of why we have enjoyed running this years campaign.
Additionally- thank you to the Rugby club for helping organise an amazing Mo-ball, all the union staff, Andy's man club, Polly Banks, the university shop, and yet again every single person who donated.
We still have fundraising until the 9th so keep pushing donations and lets try to bigger the total!

All the best and thanks again,

Patrick, Callum, and the 2024 Committee x
