This Movember, I’m growing a mo (and raising some money) for a cause that hits close to home — men’s mental health and suicide prevention.

Like so many others, I’ve had my own ongoing challenges with mental health over the years. It’s not something that’s always easy to talk about, but I’ve learned how important it is to be open — for myself, my family, and the people around me. There have been tough times where I’ve struggled quietly, and I know how easy it is to feel like you have to just get on with it. But nobody should have to fight their battles alone.

Men are often told to “man up” or to keep things to themselves — and that silence can be deadly. Movember is about breaking that silence. It’s about starting real conversations, checking in on your mates, and making sure that every man knows it’s okay to ask for help.

I’m doing this to raise awareness, to support others going through it, and to remind myself — and anyone reading — that mental health matters just as much as physical health.
