@movember you have been painful but fun this year.

I wanted to see #movember out with one last push. The #conwyhalfmarathon twice last week felt amazing so I challenged my friends on Tuesday to sponsor me again and they came up trumps.

The first lap today was fun but the second lap was, as Clubber Lang would put it, PAIN! I was very cold, my legs were hurting, I felt vulnerable in the dark and some of those miles were long drawn out torment and suffering…absolutely perfect for putting into perspective why I was running. I’ll take physical pain EVERY day of the week if it helped lower the amount of mental health suffering that men go through, in fact not just the men but everyone!

I’m so grateful for @donnahaggas brining the cavalry with a coat, tea and toast which actually worked wonders and got my little legs running again.

Running the last mile with my son was special as I want him to understand he can make a difference in life by doing things to help others regardless of how much discomfort it may cause him.

All my followers and friends are just absolute legends. At mile 22 I did wonder if I could go on and I knew if I quit every single person would have said “No worries brother, it was a great effort “ and that kinda reasoning only spurs you on to get the job done. Super thanks to @adventures_with_a_macsensaurs for coming to cheer me on, absolutely brilliant.

To end my post, my run took 4:55 hours (I am old), in that time 295 men globally will have committed suicide. So please, speak out if your suffering, listen if someone tells you they are suffering, and once you have spoken go and see your gp or speak to a mental health charity- people suffering with mental health are not alone, there are so many others suffering too and so many people that genuinely want to help ❤️

So today is the last day of Movember and to go out in style I’m running my second marathon in 11 days today. The route will again be the conwy half marathon route twice…which also means the great orme twice again!

The support has been epic and in all honesty this has been a welcoming and positive distraction for me so thank you everyone.

Sadly the tash has gone as my upper lip just couldn’t handle how macho I looked

My Mo Bros and Mo Sistas,

We’re officially at the Movember half-way mark!

I’ve looked through the Mo Spaces in our team, and there are some incredibly good-looking Mo’s and legendary Movers out there.

For the Mo Growers, your Mo’s should now be exiting the awkward phase (I can hear your sighs of relief!) and shaping into the strong, confident Mo’s they were born to be. Well done.

For those still struggling to muster up those whiskers, stay strong!

Though we’re only half way through the month, I couldn’t be more thrilled to share how far we‘ve come.

With 19 Mo’s on our team, we’ve now raised £916!

I’d like to make a special shout-out to the team fundraising leader, Josh who has already raised £145 VERY closely followed by Aron on £140. Incredible efforts!

Despite the (already) great results, let’s keep the Mo’mentum going.

My challenge to you all? Aim to double your fundraising totals.

I know it’s a big task. But we’re here now, so why not go for it? Give it your best shot. You may be surprised by how deep your supporters will dig to stop men dying too young.

The truth is, no matter how your Mo is looking or your Moves are tracking - you’re part of a global movement, creating real, positive change in men’s health. That’s something to be proud of.

Put simply, you’re a Mo Legend.

With Mo love,
Jonesy

Well I did it today, my first ultra, running from Colwyn Bay to the summit of Snowdon...a total of 60km!

It was a tough effort especially as I ran solo and had to navigate a route to stay safe.

I thoroughly enjoyed it and I hope my effort can inspire more men to talk, to take care of their health and I get a few donations.

Felt very proud running for such an amazing charity
