Funds raised by Movember are invested in Awareness, Survivorship and Research. Those raised in the UK are directed to programmes run by Movember and our men’s health partners: Prostate Cancer UK (PCUK) and The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR).
Prostate Cancer UK currently have six Movember funded survivorship programmes in place aiming to improve the lives of men - and their families - living with prostate cancer across the UK. The Health and Social Care Professionals Network represents part of an unprecedented level of investment into prostate cancer survivorship. Without your help, funds and dedication, this programme would not have been possible.

THE HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE PROFESSIONALS NETWORK
This survivorship initiative provides localised services to improve the care and support available to men and their families living with prostate cancer. This is being achieved by building on existing networks and partnering with local organisations including the NHS and other health service providers.
The network specifically addresses better ways of supporting the physical and mental health challenges faced by men affected by the disease. This is being achieved by funding additional health professionals roles including Clinical Nurse Specialists, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists.
The service was launched in January 2013 with the funding of two nurses at the Urological Cancer Charity in Aberdeen. By 2014 there will be 35 health and social care professionals funded by Movember across the UK.
This is just one of the programmes we are currently rolling out, thanks to you, which will help improve the quality of live for those men and their families battling prostate cancer.
