This week, Movember partners YO! Sushi hosted an event with Countertalk to talk all about how to combat the stigma of mental health in the hospitality industry.
The panel was chaired by Ravneet Gill who is part of Countertalk, an organisation that helps to connect industry bodies; with Alyson Hancock, HR Director at YO!; Sarah Coghlan, Global Health Promotion Director at Movember; and Merly Kammerling, chef, therapist and founder of Me, Myself in Mind answering questions from both Rav and the audience.
The hospitality industry is the 3rd largest employer in the UK, accounting for more than 3 million jobs. With 67% of workers in the industry claim their anxieties affect performance at work and 62% of hospitality workers are too afraid to bring up the subject of their mental health, Movember were delighted to be invited to be part of the discussion on how to combat the stigma in the sector.
