December Twentieth - “After the Mo”
The razors are quiet, the posters come down,
But the weight of our why still circles the town.
December rolls in with its glitter and glare,
Yet some hearts feel heavy, some minds need repair.
The moustache is still glorious , but the message must stay,
To check in on mates who drift far away.
For silence can echo much louder than cries,
And pain often hides in the brightest of eyes.
So on this twentieth day of December, as the year starts to slow,
Let us carry the torch lit first by the Mo.
Ask, “How are you really?” and wait, soft and still,
For the long, honest answers that courage must fill.
For brothers and fathers, for colleagues and friends,
Let care be the habit that never quite ends.
The month may be over, the calendar turned,
But Movember lives on in the lessons we learned.
