My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Men's health
Prostate cancer
Testicular cancer
Mental health and suicide prevention

Some of you may have seen that last year I completed Ironman 70.3 Weymouth, which is a half Ironman distance triathlon. This year on the 21st September 2025, I will be taking on the full distance. IRONMAN Wales, held in Tenby, Pembrokeshire—a race I grew up watching and never imagined I would one day take part in. Known for its demanding terrain, Ironman Wales is one of the most challenging events on the Ironman calendar. It includes:
• A 3.8km (2.4 mile) sea swim in Tenby’s choppy waters
• A 180km (112 mile) bike ride with 2,450m of elevation through the Pembrokeshire countryside
• A 42.2km (26.2 mile) run with 500m of elevation around Tenby itself
I am undertaking this challenge to raise funds once again for Movember, a charity that is transforming the landscape of men’s health. On average, one man dies by suicide every minute globally. In the UK, three out of four suicides are men. These are devastating statistics that highlight a critical need for change.
Movember addresses men’s mental health through a unique lens—focusing on prevention, early intervention, and health promotion. In addition to mental health, they are also tackling prostate and testicular cancer, having funded over 1,250 men’s health projects worldwide. Their work is reshaping how health services engage with and support men.
Personally, I’ve found that regular exercise and having a meaningful goal to work towards have had a profound impact on my own mental wellbeing. This journey is not just about physical endurance—it’s about raising awareness and encouraging open conversations around men’s health.
Men often find it difficult to talk about their struggles. I encourage everyone reading this to check in with the men in your life—friends, family, colleagues. A simple conversation can make a world of difference. It might feel uncomfortable, but it could save a life.
If you’re able to, please consider donating to support this cause and help improve the lives of men everywhere.
