My motivation

Thank you for taking the time to read our story.

Training for a marathon with children and a full time job as a single mum is no easy feat....

Fitting training into an already crazy schedule has been difficult to say the least...not only finding the time and energy to run miles and miles (when running isn't really my thing) has been so much harder than I ever thought it would be!

I've suffered with the voices in my head telling me to just stop running because 'I can't do it' or to just go home for a cup of tea or the times I 'maybe' ran with a hangover.....that one was hard!!

I also had a running injury that stopped me literally in my tracks, and left me with a very silly limp! Big thanks to the physio at St Lawrence clinic for fixing me up and the sports massages from Richard at Flex Muscle Therapy, Birkenshaw. Top guys indeed, they kept me going when it was getting really tough.

So, why go through this? We as a group are taking on a challenge, one which we said we would never ever do...

A marathon!! In the south of France! 26 miles of running!!

That's a long all way to drive - never mind run! (All of us have only ever run 10k max (which is 6.2 miles!)

After speaking about who we'd like to support, we've all agreed to support the same charity...Men's Mental Health and Well-Being with the charity Movember.

This charity is especially close to my heart, given I lost my dad when I was 16. Plus my younger brother earlier this year, at just age 31.

We all feel mental health is mega important no matter your sex however men often suffer in silence, you only have to look at the suicide rates...the male figure is considerably higher than the females..this doesn't mean we don't support all with mental health issues, we feel everyone matters, but we have chosen to support the men who are struggling, given my latest loss.

The charity support everyone struggling, whether you need advice about a diagnosis or you feel you can't make another day - please reach out!...

Remember, life always gets better, don't leave the ones you love behind.

I've come across so many people over my career as a barber and I feel honoured my lovely gents feel they can confide in me as a barber and I will always do my best to make you look your best but also feel your best too!

I'll always have a listening ear if anyone at all ever needs it...as a human being, I care for the human race, please always reach out.

Please wish us luck and sponsor if possible, no matter how small, every penny counts for this wonderful charity which supports so many vulnerable people.

Thank you for all your support and kind words it means the world!

Team "Wonder Women" via movember. Thanks guys, for your support.
