My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Mental health and suicide prevention

This year I’m running the Rome Marathon in order to raise money for Movember, a charity close to my heart for a number of reasons.

It is true to form that I am fundraising for Movember in March - predictably late (or early!) but I’d like for it to demonstrate that Men’s mental health is an issue all year round, not just for a month.

A man kills himself every minute. I’ve set the fundraising target at £2400 which might seem like a lot, but in the context of being £10 for every man who will take his life in the time it should take me to run the race, suddenly seems much less significant.

Those who know me well will know I am generally opposed to running as it normally means I’m late or in danger. However, with statistics like 40% of men never speaking about their mental health there definitely is danger and we’re all too late to it.

So please show support in any way you can; donate, share this post, like, send me a song to listen to on my next training run, check in with your mates, your dads, sons, brothers and find any other ways to change the face of Men’s Mental Health.
