My motivation

GLOBALLY, ON AVERAGE, 1 MAN DIES BY SUICIDE EVERY MINUTE OF EVERY DAY.

In 2022 I deadlifted 100kg every minute for one hour, for every male who takes their own life in this hour.

Last year I attempted to deadlift 80kg, 60 times an hour, for 12 hours. A total of 720 reps and nearly 60 tonnes. Falling short of my goal but succeeding at raising awareness and completing 500 reps!

I will also be encouraging and supporting fundraising efforts by individuals and teams in University of Strathclyde Movember Challenge and Strathclyde Canoe Club.

Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men's health, and this Movember I'm joining them. Together we can make a difference for men's health – in prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Help me stop men dying too young.
