My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Men's health
Mental health and suicide prevention

I've set myself some tasking personal challenges this Movember, all in aid of raising funds for the health challenges men face. Movember's work goes some way in helping to reduce the number of preventable deaths and I want to do my part to help the cause and start up some conversations along the way. Here's what I'll be up to:

The Classic - I'm growing a Mo' to carry on the conversation around Men's health, in particular mental health. Hopefully helping others and myself in reducing the stigma about guys opening up about this oftentimes scary side of our brains. The question is what will I manage to grow in 30 days? Do I attempt the Hulk Hogan? Perhaps a Hercule Poirot?

Being a bit of a Planker - I also plan to raise funds for the challenges that Movember takes on around men's physical health, I'm completing a 30 day plank challenge. I plan to go from a base level of struggling to plank for 60 seconds on day one, up to a 6 minute plank over the 30 days. For someone whose core strength resembles that of a length of boiled spaghetti, this is going to be a tough one!

Movement challenge: As a team, my colleagues and I are running, swimming, cycling or walking a distance of 334 miles in November. This is total distance of the combined routes from Douglas to each of the ports we sail to; Heysham, Liverpool, Belfast and Dublin.

Together we can make a difference for men's health – in prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Help me stop men dying too young.
