My motivation

Fundraising for cause areas including:

Mental health and suicide prevention

At the age of 37 I have never, nor even once, raised any money for a good cause before.
When I was 19, one of my best friends took his own life. It was sudden and without warning. None of us knew that he was in a dark place. On the outside he was still the same funny and charming guy he always had been. I can't imagine what he must have been feeling on the inside.
As a police officer I've been to far too many incidents of men taking their own life. Every one I go to brings back all the memories of my friend. Every time it hurts. This past year I've lost colleagues to suicide, guys who you would never associate with any kind of mental health problem.

If, by raising a few pounds, I can help one guy to just speak to someone when they feel the world around them is getting dark, then I will be very happy.

I am doing this as part of my team. 20 of us front line police officers getting together for a good cause.
