My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Men's health
Testicular cancer
Mental health and suicide prevention

It’s that time of the year again! The hairy upper lip makes its return and the running trainers are out for a special cause, very close to my heart.

The last two years have been the hardest years of my life. I have had to deal with periods of extreme lows, suffering from severe depression and unbearable anxiety.

This was truly terrifying, I felt hopeless and like I was a burden to myself and those around me. At points I wanted to end it all as I didn't think I would ever see the light again.

But, I took action by talking and reaching out for support from family, friends, my GP and a therapist. It was so difficult to face, but this is what helped pull me out of the darkness.

This is why I am so passionate about sharing my experience and participating in Movember. If I can help others who may be experiencing similar thoughts and feelings, that is so, so, important to me.

Helping to raise essential funds that can be used to support other men that are struggling in a similar way is vital. The money we raise can help to save the live of a man you love.

So this month is dedicated to raising awareness around men’s health and breaking down the stigma that surrounds men’s mental health in particular.

The moustache is a symbol of support for us blokes who are going through it, normalising the fact it is ok to not be ok.

I will also be running for 60 minutes a day, every day, during November. This is to represent the 60 men we lose to suicide, every hour, of every day. A truly staggering statistic and one I'm striving to change.

It genuinely chokes me up reflecting on how far I have come. The person I was would be so proud of the person I am today.

So, please, use this a reminder if you are feeling that way.

Know that you are not alone, no matter how much it may feel like you are.

It’s ok to feel sad, anxious, confused, vulnerable, scared or hopeless. But do not bottle those feelings up and keep them to yourself. Do not be ashamed of how you feel. Speak up, don’t man up.

Please, talk.
People will understand.
People will care.
People will be able to help.

Nothing is ever permanent. Things do get better. You will get better.
If I can, you can too.

Last year you guys helped me raise over £3,000 and it would be amazing this year if we could try to top this!

Any donation, no matter the size, can help save the life of a man you love.

Thank you for reading.
Big love,
Chenz xxx

NEW TARGET!

Following the absolutely amazing generosity of everybody so far, I have made the decision to increase my fundraising target up to £5,000.

As this is a big jump from the original target of £3,500, I have set myself a challenge if I am to achieve this.

If I raise £5,000, I will run a marathon in December.

So if you want to see me deep in the pain cave, please keep the donations rolling in.

Love to you all!

Chenz x
