My motivation

For the fourth time in five years, I’m taking part in Movember. With a couple of mates, we are raising money to tackle men’s health issues.

Movember tackles prostate & testicular cancer, suicide prevention & mental health awareness. We feel it’s a very worthy cause, due to the age demographic we work with, every week. Either coaching for business East Coast Coaching or with the U20’s at Dunbar United FC, I feel it’s a particularly applicable cause.

I have been coaching for 10 years, in 2024. Lots of this, has been with lads from 12 y/o to 19 y/o, particularly in my current role. I strongly believe it is vital to breakdown the stigma towards mental health, within men & young people.

Opening up and being able to speak about your feelings should not be seen as being weak. Whilst raising awareness and educating men on signs & symptoms of testicular and prostate cancer.

➡️ Each year, more than 4,300 men die by suicide in the UK.
➡️ In 2018, the suicide rate among young people aged 15-24 increased by 52.7%.
➡️ One man dies from prostate cancer every 45 minutes in the UK.
➡️ 1.3 million men are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year.
➡️ Almost 35,000 men are estimated to be living with or beyond a testicular cancer diagnosis.
➡️ Over 2400 men a year in the UK (around 6 men a day) are diagnosed with testicular cancer.

Any donations to a very important cause would be greatly appreciated. Or, just feel free to have a giggle about my bald face and silly moustache.

Twas the night before Movember, when all through the land,
Not a whisker was stirring, not one single strand.
The razors were readied by the sink with care,
In hopes that a smooth-to-be face would soon be there.
The Mo Bros and Sisters were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of Mo glory ran through their heads.

Yes folks, the hairiest month of the year begins TOMORROW!!

Hopefully all the plans for your team’s campaigns are in place, and if not – there is still time to recruit, make plans and build hype. Last year the sports challenge made a serious impact, and we’re gonna do it all again this year.

BE THE DIFFERENCE IN MOVEMBER 2024!

Welcome to Movember 2023 Sports Mos. Who will come out on top? Shave down, get Moving and make a difference. Whatever you do, whatever you raise. It makes a difference.

The Mo is Calling.
Check out the UK Sports Network Challenge to see how you measure up against your fellow sporting Mos across the country. We will be recognising the top 20 fundraising teams and individuals when we hit December, and we'll provide weekly updates in the hairy month as well.
Now is the time to spread the word and get as many people signed up as possible. Mo for it.
Mo HQ

143 Week(s) Ago

It begins. For those about to Mo - however you're doing it - we salute you. Keep an eye on the UK Sports leader board. The top 20 teams and individuals will be immortalised in Movember folklore (along with some tangible rewards). It's not too late to sign up so keep growing your team and let's change the face of men's health.

Note: As donations can be made privately, not all donations are displayed to the public.
