Target: £500
raised £3,150 since 2017
My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Mental health and suicide prevention

It’s been 11 years this November since I lost my dad to suicide and 2 years since we lost a good friend Mike Strong also to suicide. Across the world, one man dies by suicide every minute of every day, with males accounting for 69% of all suicides.

That's why, this year of all years is the perfect time to grow a moustache or pound the pavement to raise awareness and money for a brilliant charity.

I’ll be running 60km to represent the 60 men we lose to suicide every hour across the world.

Thank you to everyone who has donated!

Proud of the bro’s for pushing through their barriers today!
A positive way to spend an otherwise tough and depressing day - 10 years since we lost our dad to suicide.

Legs and back are in bits but pleased it’s done. Well earned McDonald’s to refuel.

Pt1. This is a very difficult post to write and not something I’d ever thought I would be doing, particularly after starting this Movember campaign. However I decided, not saying anything would be the wrong thing to do.
On Saturday, I had the devastating news that a close friend from school had taken his own life. He leaves two young daughters and a huge extended family.
Mike (in the middle of the photo) was the definition of a big friendly giant, the strongest guy I know on the outside but a big softy on the inside. Unfortunately he’d been having a tough time over the last few years and tragically, his demons got the better of him.

FINALLY hit the 300km mark!! Thought I’d have a celebratory drink when I got back!
I never would have thought I’d get anywhere near 300k at the start of the month but the generosity of everyone has pushed me to get out and run twice a day for almost 30 days in a row!!
I wanted to take the opportunity to also thank my very patient fiancée who has not only had to deal with me taking a new job in Birmingham but also allowed me to go out running whenever I have a spare moment!

On a serious note, I can see why Movember has pushed the active challenges as a way to combat depression, even this month, being out on the road has really allowed me to clear my head so it’s something I want to continue and as promised I will continue to run until I hit half a KM for every pound I’ve raised however long that takes me!
I found out this week that the company I work for (Eclipse) will be matching every penny I’ve raised and donating it to their chosen charity RNLI. So the money we’ve raised will be doubled and benefiting two great charities!

Another 12.5k done - that one felt tough after yesterday’s run!
Travelling back home from Birmingham tomorrow so wanted to make sure I only had a short run to do on my final night :D
Thank you to everyone who has donated, can’t believe the number keeps going up!!

Only 4 days to go! I’ve grown to like the tash over the last 3 weeks but I definitely haven’t grown to like the daily 10k. My final run will be on Thursday and I’ll make sure it tips me over the edge of the 300km target!

Sideways rain and gale force winds do not make for an easy run!!
Was like a drowned rat by the end of it, as you can see... :D

336 Week(s) Ago

Just finished a 12km run. Note to self - do not wear a waterproof jacket, it acts as a sweat suit.
Hit the 200km mark today!! Still on track for the 300km by the end of the month. 11km minimum per day should get me there :D I think my knees and calves might just allow me to get there and then give up!
Thought I’d give an update on the tash as it’s been a while... I’m starting to feel quite attached to it now..

336 Week(s) Ago

Sharing the Movember love with my colleagues in Poland :)

337 Week(s) Ago

Just finished a 16km run in the rain. That takes me over the 150km mark!
I converted the total to miles and I’ve run 100 miles since 1st November. Not too shabby. :D
I wanted to use this post to again say thank you to everyone that has donated taking me well over my original £200 target. The money will be used for so many worthy projects.
I aim to keep my promise of running half a KM for every pound raised however I’ve come to the realisation that it won’t be possible in November alone so I will continue in to December until I hit whatever my final total will be!!

Note: As donations can be made privately, not all donations are displayed to the public.
