Prostate cancer
Testicular cancer
Mental health and suicide prevention

It's safe to say that charity fundraising wasn't uppermost in my mind when I lost my father to dementia and Parkinson's last month. I was certainly not in the mood for the usual slew of chivvying emails from Movember, which cluttered up my inbox while he was dying. But, now that a couple of weeks have passed, I’ve decided to participate once more, albeit in a slightly different way. A proud former merchant seaman, Dad rocked a full Captain Birdseye for as long as I knew him. For that reason, I'm going to stretch Movember's rules to their elastic limit by cultivating something more beardy than usual. I hope you forgive the slight transgression and maybe even chuck a couple of quid the way of this decent cause.
