BHP X Movember

BHP have joined forces with Movember to amplify your impact on men's health.

Find and join a dedicated team, level up your Movember fundraising, and raise awareness for men’s health – all while havin’ fun and doin’ good.

Why support Movember?

Around the globe, men are dying too young. But it doesn’t have to be like this.

Your unwavering support has been a cornerstone of our mission. You've raised funds for Movember, spread awareness, and dug deep. In doing so, you've helped change and save lives.

Our mission is to change the face of men's health. Mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer – we’re taking them all on.

And it's all possible thanks to our supporters – people like you.

It’s simple. Every dollar (or global equivalent) you donate will be tripled. All you need to so is sign in to the BHP portal and make a claim.

It's the easiest way to make every dollar count – three times.

“I lost an uncle and brother to suicide, and the loss had a massive impact on my family. I Mo so that my daughters understand who their uncle was. And I Mo so that other families won’t have to experience what we did. I encourage everyone to re-connect with people and understand what is normal. Your conversation could save a life.”

“We fly the flag for men’s health (both on the surface and 420m below it!) through Strava art, custom poetry, and exercise challenges too. Our focus is on encouraging our colleagues and the men in their lives to reach out to someone they care about, take action towards a healthier body and mind, and/or book a check-up with their GP.”

“The team poured their passion, creativity and care in to establishing toolbox talks, morning teas, BBQ fundraisers and an end-of-month Shave Down with the main goal being to create an opportunity to talk about men's health and mental health. Tears have been shed, tough conversation had, in the hope every little bit will save someone from harm.”

“Each year, I Mo in support of my brother, working to raise awareness for prostate cancer and change the face of men’s health. Specifically, I am deliberate in encouraging men to use the month formerly known as November as a reminder to get in for their annual check-ups.”

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to grow a moustache to take part?

Men’s health affects everyone. So, if you can’t (or don’t want to) grow a Mo, don’t fret, there are plenty of other ways to get face-deep into the movement:

  • Move for mental health: Move 60km over the month for the 60 men we lose to suicide each hour.
  • Mo Your Own Way: Get creative and devise your own challenge.
  • Host a Mo-ment: Create a Movember event to help raise funds and awareness for the cause.
  • Captain or co-captain a BHP Movember team, or join a Movember planning committee.

How can women get involved?

While growing a Mo is left to the guys, those who don't grow moustaches but still want to support men’s health do a lot of important work for Movember. Mo Sisters and those who love Mo's can raise funds and awareness by signing up and pledging to Move, Host or Mo Your Own Way.

I’ve changed roles at BHP. How do I join a different Movember team?

The easiest way to switch teams is with the Movember app. Tap the Teams button and join a new team. If you still need help, get in touch with Maddi from Movember at maddi.moncrieff@movember.com and we'll get back to you.

Where does the money go?

Since 2003, we've built a men's health movement, funding over 1,320 projects around the world. We call it challenging the status quo – shaking up men’s health research and transforming the way health services reach and support men.

Funds raised during Movember go towards supporting innovative world-class men’s health projects in our key focus areas – mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer. These projects are funded either directly by Movember or through our men’s health partners. Learn more about our impact.
