The Movember Foundation has announced the appointment of Owen Sharp to the new role of Global Prostate and Testicular Cancer Lead.  Sharp will join the team in the London office after four and a half years leading the team at Prostate Cancer UK, The Movember Foundation’s largest men’s health partner in the UK, where he will remain until October.

The role will assume responsibility for a major part of the Movember Foundation’s programmes investments, primarily relating to prostate and testicular cancer health outcomes as well as management of many men’s health partnership relations around the world. Sharp will be focusing on directing and expanding these initiatives globally and ensuring that the great progress being achieved translates into changes in practice that benefit men.

Sharp said:I am incredibly sad to be leaving Prostate Cancer UK. It has been an absolute privilege to be Chief Executive here and I am so proud of all that we have achieved. I am moving to a really exciting new role at Movember, and am very happy that I will be continuing to help make a significant contribution to improving men’s health. I know that Prostate Cancer UK is perfectly placed to carry on pushing forward to achieve our objectives, and we have a great leadership team who can work through the transition to a new Chief Executive without missing a beat.”

Paul Villanti, Director of Programmes at the Movember Foundation says: “We’re delighted that Owen has agreed to join us at the Movember Foundation. He has done an outstanding job over the past four and a half years successfully leading Prostate Cancer UK and he brings with him an incredible knowledge and expertise to help us achieve our aim of men living happier, healthier and longer lives. We look forward to him making a significant global contribution over the coming years.”
