These Mo Bros and Mo Sistas are what Made in Movember is all about. Check out how they are making Movember their own this year, putting a unique spin on the hairy month to raise funds and awareness for men's health.

BRYNJA DUTHIE

Mo Sista Brynja is a Maker.

After a three year battle with prostate cancer, her grandad passed away last January. Being a Mo Sista, Brynja can’t grow a Mo, but not one to be deterred, she decided to put her own spin on things. Brynja began baking and selling cookie moustaches on sticks and encouraging people in her hometown of Dundee to take selfies with her creations to help raise awareness of Movember.

She’s aiming to raise £3,000 for Movember this year and is already well on her way to hitting this target. Find out more about her work here.

AMALGAM MODELS

The Mo Bros and Mo Sistas at Amalgam Models are Makers.

Inside the workshop at Amalgam are Mo Bros and Mo Sistas who make models for a living. They think, solve and make all day long, always looking for ways to improve the work that they’re doing.

As Mo Sista and Project Manager Elaine puts it, “There’s immense satisfaction in crafting beautiful, desirable things that occasionally make it into the public domain. Seeing someone admiring something that you helped create fills you with pride, much like a well-crafted Mo. We live by the wisdom of Movember, particularly the idea that something worth doing is worth doing right”.

Check out their Mo Space here.

NEIL BREMNER

Mo Bro Neil is a Maker of Movember.

Last year Mo Bro Neil Bremner chose to get involved in Movember for the first time. His Father-in-law, who lives abroad, had been diagnosed with prostate cancer in January 2013, so Neil decided he’d have to come up a different way to offer support.

A photographer by trade, Neil came up with the idea of offering Movember Portraits to anyone who donated a minimum of £10 to his Mo Space; a head and shoulders taken in his signature caricature style in his studio in Glastonbury. Neil’s Mo Space is filled with different daily portraits, which take him two hours to come up with the idea, set up and shoot.

Neil will be shooting Movember Portraits on Saturday 29th Movember. Once you’ve made your donation, you can email info@madeportraits.com or ring 01458 83188 to book your appointment. Donate and find out more here.
