We're excited to announce that Movember is now the Official Mental Health Partner for Riot Games' EMEA esports leagues. This includes the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC), VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) EMEA, and Game Changers EMEA Championship. Through this partnership, Movember will bring our expertise in men's mental health to create a healthier and more supportive competitive environment for players, teams, fans and the wider esports community.
Esports athletes face serious mental health challenges: intense performance pressure, gruelling schedules and the constant spotlight of fans. But getting young men to engage with mental health support has traditionally been an uphill battle. The gaming world opens up a door for connection with young men, where they can be connected and engaged with their community while also having access to mental health resources and initiatives.
Over the next two years, we're embedding mental health support directly into the competitive structure. Players and team staff will get practical training on managing stress and building healthier habits. We're hosting roundtables where pros can discuss real challenges they face. Mental health messaging will also feature across broadcasts and live events, aiming to empower the community to engage in open conversations without stigma and reinforce that support is available when it’s needed.
“Supporting the wellbeing of the VALORANT Esports EMEA community, our players, and team staff is something we are committed to strengthening, so we’re thrilled to welcome Movember as a partner,” said Daniel Ringland, Head of VALORANT Esports, EMEA. “While supporting open conversations and ensuring our players know trusted resources are available is a priority, this partnership also helps raise awareness around mental health and wellbeing across the wider VALORANT Esports EMEA community. Movember’s expertise will help normalise these discussions beyond the competitive stage, so everyone connected to our ecosystem feels supported by professionals committed to making a positive impact.”
This work builds on our Level Up program, which launched in 2025 to make gaming and esports psychologically safer for everyone. With Riot Games as a partner, we're taking that mission to the next level, giving us the ability to reach millions of players and fans who need this support. This partnership will run through the 2026 and 2027 seasons.
