Movember is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Evans and Lorraine Higgins to the Board of Movember Europe, strengthening governance and leadership across the region.

Movember Europe plays a critical role in supporting Movember’s strategy, growth and impact across Europe.

Strengthening leadership across Europe

Andrew Evans is the co-founder and Group CEO of Smart, a global fintech business transforming pensions, savings and financial wellbeing for millions of people worldwide. Since founding Smart in 2014, Evans has led its expansion across the UK, United States, Middle East and Asia, scaling a mission-led organisation underpinned by technology and long-term social impact.

Evans also serves as a trustee of Anna Freud, the UK-based children and family mental health charity, where he supports the development of innovative mental health services. He brings deep experience in scaling purpose-driven organisations and a strong commitment to impact beyond profit.

Movember has a unique ability to reach men and boys at scale, challenge stigma and drive real systems change,” said Evans.

I’m excited to support Movember Europe as it continues to expand its reach and deliver better outcomes for men and boys globally.”

A qualified barrister, Lorraine Higgins brings extensive experience across public policy, government affairs, and law.

In 2011, she was appointed to the Irish Senate by the Prime Minister of Ireland. During her tenure, she was widely recognised for her influence on public policy and public debate, and was named by The Irish Times as one of the Top Five People in Politics to Watch and one of the Top 50 People in Ireland to Watch.

Over the years, Lorraine has served on numerous government advisory committees spanning business, digital, skills, retail, and Brexit. She previously served as a director of Brussels-based eCommerce Europe, which represents more than 150,000 businesses across EU Member States, and as CEO of Ireland’s largest retail representative body. She was also a trustee of Sightsavers International (Ireland) for two years and served for five years as Honorary Consul of the Slovak Republic, supporting economic, educational, and cultural relations between Slovakia and Ireland.

Since establishing Rockwood Public Affairs in 2020, she has worked with a range of multinational organisations and representative bodies, as a trusted advisor.

“Movember’s work sits at the intersection of health, policy and social change,” said Higgins.

“I’m proud to join the Board of Movember Europe and contribute my experience to help strengthen Movember’s platform, influence and impact across Europe.”

Supporting Movember’s mission in Europe

The appointments reflect Movember’s continued focus on strong governance, regional leadership and long-term sustainability as it works to reduce preventable deaths and improve the mental and physical health of men and boys.

“Andrew and Lorraine bring complementary expertise across technology, policy, governance and communications,”

said Michelle Terry, Movember CEO.
