Men's health

Mental health and suicide prevention

On your marks, set, Mo!

This year I am tackling my 1st ever Marathon in aid of Movember!

As always, Movember is extremely important to me, as in April 2021 my Dad Scott, was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer. Thankfully, it was found at an early stage, allowing him to return to a normal life soon after.

I was initially motivated to raise money and awareness for Movember, as just over 20 years ago, my Papa successfully fought Testicular Cancer. It is important to highlight the effect this disease can have on people's Brothers, Fathers, Sons and Uncles, as well as other members of their family.

It is no doubt down to the work of Movember in reducing the stigma around having those difficult and scary conversations, as well as making Men around the world more aware of their own health, that he was aware of something being not quite right, and going to get himself checked.

Once again, Men's Mental Health is still a huge motivation too. Having seen some of my closest friends have their own battles that they've fought and overcome, has been an inspiration and shining light in what has been a bleak year and a half for many. Globally on Average, 1 Man Dies By Suicide Every Minute Of Every Day and Movember hopes to reduce this by 25% by 2030.

Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men's health, and this Movember I'm joining them. Together we can make a difference for men's health – in prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Help me stop men dying too young.

Twas the night before Movember, when all through the land,
Not a whisker was stirring, not one single strand.
The razors were readied by the sink with care,
In hopes that a smooth-to-be face would soon be there.
The Mo Bros and Sisters were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of Mo glory ran through their heads.

Yes folks, the hairiest month of the year begins TOMORROW!!

Hopefully all the plans for your team’s campaigns are in place, and if not – there is still time to recruit, make plans and build hype. Last year the sports challenge made a serious impact, and we’re gonna do it all again this year.

BE THE DIFFERENCE IN MOVEMBER 2024!
