My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Prostate cancer
Testicular cancer
Mental health and suicide prevention

Globally, the rate of suicide is alarmingly high, particularly in men. Too many men are ‘toughing it out’, keeping their feelings to themselves and struggling in silence. Movember is aiming to reduce the rate of male suicide by 25% by 2030, and I want to help them get there. Help me stop men dying too young.

In the UK, around three-quarters of registered suicide deaths in 2020 were for men (3,925 deaths; 75.1%). I will do a push up challenge from June 1st to 30th for each life lost to raise awareness.

I cycled 10 km00:20:39

Smashed the final 10km today, feeling good but wanting to really consider my challenges for next year. This has been pretty fantastic to have finished.

600 bicycle crunches and 7km cycle conquered today. Definitely feeling more driven today, but need to also keep driving home the communication.

7km cycled on the indoor bike. just a quick blast but enough to start chipping away at the 60km total.

1200 left to make up, really struggling with this one this year. Hoping it gets easier as I make up the remaining missed.

Aiming for my first 10km cycle this week too.

The good news is that I'm back up to date on my reps, but still unable to do press ups properly.

This Movember has been a real struggle for me and I think it's good to acknowledge that I'm having a hard time keeping to my routine, fundraising and even having those conversations - we all need the courage, bravery and honesty to talk to our loved ones about we feel and to ask those questions too.

I challenge you all to reach out over the next weeks to those who may need an ear.

This Movember has been a strange one. I've been slightly under the weather which means I've lost some days progress (hence 1000 crunches today). However, there's 600 left to obtain over the next few days.

I think the message is that it's really important to listen to our bodies but also to talk to our loved ones and other people for perspective.

Missed out on the last 2 days of reps due to illness and recovery, but made up for it this evening with 1600 bicycle crunches.

Still aiming to push through the month, but health and mood are important drivers and I'm going to listen to my body moving forward.

Have had to listen to my body today and while it's been tough, I've had to swap out the press ups and sit ups for 400 bicycle crunches. Continuing to push myself, but can't do damage in the pursuit of fundraising.

It's already beginning to ache now, but it's important to highlight that this pain is temporary and the pain our brothers and sisters go through feels endless. Your support goes a long way.

200 press ups and 200 ab exercises done (had to do a combo of bicycle crunches, Russian twists and leg raises to hit my target). Bring it on!
