We work closely with our global men's health partners to ensure collaboration, transparency and accountability for every project we fund. We monitor this through report cards which detail what we seek to achieve, key measures and the impact.
Prostate Cancer
"Together with the brightest minds in research, we aim to achieve significant breakthroughs in the hope of beating prostate cancer. Our disruptive funding approach identifies revolutionary ways to accelerate health outcomes by creating strong, global collaborative teams." Dr. Colleen Nelson, Global Scientific Chair.
Men's Health
"One Mo can help change the face of men’s health through the powerful conversations created globally during Movember. Men have the chance to confidently discuss men’s health with people around them, resulting in men taking action early, helping change and save lives." Paul Villanti, Executive Director, Programmes
Mental health and suicide prevention
“The number of men taking their own lives around the world is one of the biggest challenges of our time. Movember is working to ensure all men and boys look after their mental health and are comfortable to seek help when they’re struggling.”
Brendan Maher, Global Director, Mental Health and Suicide Prevention.
Testicular Cancer
“Despite being the 2nd most common cancer in young men, testicular cancer is often a forgotten cancer due to early detection and treatment. Our projects look at underinvested areas such as improving access to healthcare services and treatment options for relapse” Paul Villanti, Executive Director, Programmes.

About the project

• Movember’s tagline, changing the face of men’s health, aptly describes the challenge of participating in Movember – changing your appearance by growing a moustache for 30 days; and the outcome – changing the understanding and attitudes men have towards their health and the actions they take.

• Movember’s awareness and education program is powered by the growth of a new moustache and the obvious question that follows – why the moustache?  Because the Movember community want to explain their change in appearance, they arm themselves with knowledge about men’s health provided by Movember.  The conversations created educate, breakdown stigmas, and ultimately change behaviour.

• The Movember website and mobile applications are the ultimate hub for all men’s health information. Movember also hosts and attends events throughout the year where we deliver health related information in a fun and engaging way. The Mo is Movember’s ribbon; it’s the catalyst for change.

• In 2012 in the UK, 363,988 Mo Bros and Mo Sistas registered and became walking, talking billboards for men’s health for the 30 days of Movember. Each participant, through their networks online and in person, reached 2,413 people. A combined reach of 878 million in the UK (363,988 participants x 2,413 people).

• In addition to providing the Movember campaign as a platform for the Movember community to raise awareness, funds are used to provide valuable resources which educate men on the health risks they face, how to stay healthy and how to seek help if they become ill.
