2023. My eleventh consecutive year of writing this blurb! Four years ago I was privileged to be asked to be one of the faces of Movember and it’s continued to haunt me with people sending pics of my face on toilet doors, taxis, billboards, magazines and social media! I was given the moniker of “The Itchy One” (yes, it definitely only refers to the tache!) and last year, I was also given the title of “The Married One” informally… And every one of those years, I’ve been thankful that Movember gave me the tools and knowledge to recognise when something was wrong and allow me to have these experiences.

This year has been particularly challenging and the kind folks at Movember have taught me a lot about recognising your own limits and being kind to yourself so I'll be taking a step back for Movember 2023 and giving myself a bit of time to reflect and recharge. I love helping the team to bang the metaphorical Movember drum and getting out there to educate all types of audience on awareness of testicular cancer and I hope I’ve been helpful to those I’ve been a guide to as they navigate their cancer journeys but the battery has run a bit low this year. I'll still be cheering on from the sidelines and will be back next year with whatever is needed whilst (hopefully) celebrating the 5 year all clear.

Regardless of me not being as active this year, the need for funds continues so please remember the great work Movember does. Every 6 minutes a man is diagnosed with testicular cancer. The “one offs”, the “no ballers”, MoBros and MoSisters are a supportive and kind bunch - don’t be scared to reach out if you need me or them. Hearing the word cancer is hard and it's a road no one should walk on alone.
