My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Mental health and suicide prevention
Men's health

Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men's health, physically and mentally.

My personal motivation stems from my own personal experiences along with friends, family and many people who are close people to me having also experienced struggles with their physical and mental health.

For a majority of my secondary schooling and sixth form, I was suffering and diagnosed with anorexia nervosa. A sadly common eating disorder which had a detrimental effect on my physical and mental health and my own depiction of myself. I nearly lost my life to anorexia as a teenage due to having high levels of creatine kinase in my body. Dangerously high.

After being released from a football academy set up during the first lockdown I had spent a lot of time not knowing what I would do with my life and had attempted to my own life at the age of 19. In 2022 I had also attempted to take my life following a very distressing and personal experience in addition to struggling to navigate living away from home at university. I also have many friends who have attempted to take their life, self harm and a couple who have sadly taken their life.

Along with this I suffer with ADHD & Asperger’s syndrome. These both have played a part in my life effecting how I socialise and how I carry out lifestyle choices. Linking this to mental health. In real life events I can occasionally feel extremely anxious, not physically present in the room and very emotional at the best of times, so another one of my motivations if for individuals who suffer similar with ADHD, autism, Asperger’s and many more high functioning disorders

My main motivation behind taking part in movember is to raise awareness of how under the radar mental health can go and to encourage those who are struggling to reach out for help as I would personally prefer to have the conversation with someone rather than go to their funeral knowing I can have done something to change the outcome.

Men’s mental health is something I’m very passionate about and whilst I have a platform, fit healthy and living, I want to be able to do something to contribute to helping those and this is the beginning for me.

Sport and many other activities along with family and friends have changed my life for the better and I want to open people to this along with avenues which can be used for support.

I am very lucky and privileged to announce that I was the 2023/24 St Mary’s University ambassador in that being my final year at the university and am lucky that I was lucky enough to have worked alongside committee members from our sports teams, most notably our Men’s Rugby Union whom i was part of

Hi Christian

Every Xmas/channukah the children choose a charity to support. Tye chose yours. I know we donated last year but this is separate. I assume you do this every year? Anyway, he is choosing to support men’s mental health and I know it will get there through your page.

I hope you had a wonderful Xmas and new year.

Twas the night before Movember, when all through the land,
Not a whisker was stirring, not one single strand.
The razors were readied by the sink with care,
In hopes that a smooth-to-be face would soon be there.
The Mo Bros and Sisters were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of Mo glory ran through their heads.

Yes folks, the hairiest month of the year begins TOMORROW!!

Hopefully all the plans for your team’s campaigns are in place, and if not – there is still time to recruit, make plans and build hype. Last year the sports challenge made a serious impact, and we’re gonna do it all again this year.
