Today is the last day of 'Movember'. I can't believe I've managed to raise an amazing amount of £505.00 so far, just for growing a little fuzz on my face.
I would like to take this time, to thank all of you who have sponsored me so far and for those of you, who may still wish to do so, the link is as follows:

Over the past month I have repeatedly been asked, “Why are you doing Movember”, and my reasons are as follows:-
In April 2006, a very close friend of mine, Gerry Parkes, was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. This was a complete shock to everybody, especially me, as Gerry has been a close family friend for many years. Gerry, a 3rd Dan Black Belt, is also my second in command at Jersey Ishinryu Karate Club. Gerry had to have his prostate gland removed and then undertook a course of radiotherapy treatments, which thankfully were a complete success. He has to go for regular blood tests, but to date the Cancer hasn’t returned.
Another karate colleague, Peter Spanton was recently diagnosed this year with Prostate Cancer. It was caught early and he is now making a full recovery. Peter has been a great influence during the 30 years which I have practised karate. Peter is the Chief Instructor of the Higashi Karate Kai Association and was my fiancée Louise’s, Chief Instructor when she used to live, train and compete in Competitions in the UK.
Let’s hope a cure can be found by all the monies/funds that are being raised, by Guys around the World growing a Moustache in November.
Please give generously, to this truly worthwhile cause.
