Students step right up – Movember is looking for Student Ambassadors to lead the charge on campus for Movember 2022. Applications are now open.

Have you got confidence, energy, enthusiasm, awesome ideas and a burning desire to do some good in the world? If that sounds like you, get on board and let’s change the face of men’s health together.

As a Student Ambassador, you’ll lead your university in Movember’s nation-wide fundraising challenge. Competing for glory against more than 100 unis, you will:

  • Rally sign-ups among students from all areas of your uni
  • Inspire students to fundraise for Movember, offering support, ideas and motivation throughout the month
  • Host fun and engaging events
  • Create a powerful sense of community across campus

And all while spreading life-saving awareness of the three key health issues facing men today: mental health & suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

The programme starts with two training days at Mo HQ in London (accommodation, travel and food costs are covered). The Movember team train ambassadors on all things Movember, with talks and workshops from staff as well as previous ambassadors, giving them the tools, confidence and knowledge to go away and run a kick-ass campaign with their fellow students.

Kicking off in Fresher’s Week, ambassadors take over their SU, sports clubs and societies, recruiting students to sign up and join their university challenge page. It’s all to play for each year in the university leaderboard, with lots of creative fundraising activities. Last year saw pub quizzes, shave downs, sports matches, hot wings eating contests, mo balls and, of course, lots of guys growing moustaches.

It's an amazing opportunity for students looking to gain key skills and experience in leadership, marketing, events and fundraising. In return, all ambassadors will receive references from the Movember Foundation and special consideration for a summer internship at Mo HQ in London.

Chichester ambassador Eddy Hounsell led his fellow students to raise an incredible £8k. And he personally raised £2.7k through a series of physical challenges including cycling, rowing, running, burpees and a 60 second dip in the sea to represent each man who takes his life by suicide every hour.

Eddy says ‘there had never been someone to spearhead the campaign at my uni, and being the first person to do that really empowered me to try my best and set the bench mark for years to come!’. He says his favourite part of being an ambassador was ‘getting everyone behind all the weird and wacky activities... we got to have a laugh and do a load of good in the process’.
