SEGA character, Dr. Eggman, is removing his moustache for men's health

The good folks at SEGA and Sonic Superstars have joined forces with Movember to shave down Dr. Eggman’s moustache for the first time in over 30 years.

One of the most recognised villains in video game history, the chief antagonist for Sonic the Hedgehog has picked up a pair of clippers and will sport a new look in support of Movember.

To celebrate our partnership together, SEGA and Sonic Superstars commissioned some pretty cool research that found a third (34%) of 16-24-year-old men have participated in Movember and almost a fifth (18%) were inspired to grow their first mo to look like their favourite character.

A massive 12% believe Dr. Eggman owns the most iconic moustache in popular culture, ahead of wrestler Hulk Hogan (9%), pop star Prince (8%) and the anchorman Ron Burgundy (7%).

We always knew that Dr. Eggman was a secret Mo Bro, and we’re stoked he’s on the team this year.

Our partnership with SEGA also links up with the release of their new video game, the critically acclaimed Sonic Superstars, which gives players the opportunity to join Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy in a never-before-seen adventure to stop the evil Dr. Eggman and Fang from executing their diabolical plan to convert the island’s giant animals into Badniks, before it’s too late!
