Movember and the Rugby League World Cup are creating a new programme to help foster mental fitness and resilience for young Rugby players, launching around the Rugby League World Cup 2021. We’re looking for young players to take part and need your help in finding the perfect young player to feature in a film at the heart of this programme.
We are looking to find a male 15-20yr old player to feature as the hero for the video content. This will take the form of several short video stories that are seen within an app, which users can then interact with. To be filmed over a couple of days in mid-March, once lockdown is over.
We are open to players of all backgrounds and ability. They don’t have to be the best player in the team, they don’t have to conform to any particular look or shape, they just have to have a love of the game and a willingness to get in front of the camera. We will build our stories around the player so there is an opportunity to film at their respective clubs and schools, including practices and game footage, and include these in the videos we make.
We're looking for a player and club from the North of England, and ideally within an hour of Manchester.
If this is something that chimes with your experiences, please do guide us to any clubs, local coaches or, in fact, individual players, who can either help find our player or feature in the app video content.
This is a great opportunity to help launch a programme that we believe will help foster better mental fitness and resilience in young people far and wide, and to promote your club and players within the game.
Submissions should be sent to movembercasting2021@gmail.com closing date of 22nd February 2021 (although we can extend for late entries to some extent if needed).
