Apply to be a Movember Community Sports Ambassador

If you want to go further for Movember and are based at a sporting organisation, then the Community Sports Ambassador role is for you. This is a volunteer role empowering you, a passionate Mo Bro, Mo Sister, or non-binary Mo, to go the distance for our cause, to make a difference in your community. The role

The Movember Sports Ambassador Programme empowers supporters at any sporting organisation to inspire their community to raise funds and awareness. You will set yourself targets and goals, guided by your dedicated Movember representative. The focus will be on the Movember campaign, rolling out from September until Christmas. There are also opportunities to raise funds and awareness year-round, but this is not mandatory.

This role would suit any keen Movember supporter at a club, whether they are a captain, secretary, coach, regular player, or super fan. We also accept those in the health and fitness community, such as personal trainers or gym enthusiasts. The Sports Ambassador will not only look to turn their club and community into a hub for Movember-related activities, Sports Ambassadors are also be responsible for garnering support in the clubs, leagues, competitions or governing bodies they are involved in.

Responsibilities

  1. Spreading awareness of men’s health issues at your organisation and in the local community
  2. Driving fundraising at your organisation and beyond, getting team mates to Grow, Host, Move & Mo Their Own Way
  3. Organising and hosting fundraising events
  4. Recruiting friends, family, local businesses, workplaces to take part in Movember
  5. Being a positive role model and ambassador for men’s health
  6. Recruiting associated sports organisations to raise funds and awareness for men’s health

What you will receive

We provide training to all Ambassadors, including e-learning, as well as fundraising materials and toolkits to help you lead a successful campaign. There will be in-person group training sessions in September, with potential to cover expenses. You will have a Movember member dedicated to supporting Ambassadors throughout their journey and committed to providing you with advice, techniques, tools and materials to ensure you can fulfil your role as an Ambassador. This will include:

  • Regular support from the Movember team via the Ambassador Facebook and WhatsApp group
  • Early access to and inclusion in Movember events and activations
  • Movember merchandise

Training Sessions

We offer an in-person training day, and online session for those unable to attend. Exact timings and details to be confirmed.

  1. In-person: London, Saturday, 10th September
  2. Online: Zoom, Late August

The Ambassador role runs year-round, with the bulk of your involvement from September to December. Like all our dedicated Mo fundraisers, this is a voluntary position.
