We’ve developed some easy-to-use, practical resources to support men’s mental health which take into account the unique challenges faced by men in the current global climate.

What’s happening now is impacting us all in different ways. Sometimes it’s hard to know what to do, where to start or what to say. As we push through this together, we hope we can empower people to connect with others who are struggling and find the help they need now.

Spot the Signs.

While physical distancing is essential right now, this situation has stripped us of the main opportunities men use to connect – which makes it even harder to keep an eye out for each other.

Changes in behaviour are a sign of poor mental health. Recognising the signs a mate is struggling could be life-saving.

This page will provide you with some of the potential signs a bro could be feeling low in lockdown.

Movember Conversations.

A free interactive online tool, Movember Conversations offers practical guidance on how to start a difficult conversation, how to be a good listener and how to create a setting of trust and openness with someone who might be struggling.

Based on the ALEC framework (Ask, Listen, Encourage action, Check in) developed by R U OK?, Movember Conversations presents a number of scenarios particularly relevant in today’s world: job loss, social isolation and family pressures. It uses simulated conversations to explore and practise how you might navigate a difficult conversation with someone you care about.

Family Man.

Acknowledging the strong link between fatherhood and mental health, Movember has developed Family Man to provide dads with parenting strategies that improve child behaviour and reduce parental stress.

The free, interactive, online programme is comprised of three animated episodes which dads can complete at their own pace.

The programme is designed for dads of children aged between two and eight, but can be used by any parent or caregiver – and for children outside of this age bracket.

Movember: In The Barber Chair podcast.

Our podcast series brings you real cuts and real conversations about what it means to be a man today. Hosted by TV broadcaster and male mental health advocate Matt Johnson, the podcast aims to help change the stigma around men’s health, highlighting the importance of talking, something that many men admit they struggle with.

Episodes feature guests in sports, TV, comedy, and music openly discussing issues they've personally faced and how they’ve been coping with lockdown.
