My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Mental health and suicide prevention

Globally, the rate of suicide is alarmingly high, particularly in men. Too many men are ‘toughing it out’, keeping their feelings to themselves and struggling in silence. The Movember Foundation is aiming to reduce the rate of male suicide by 25% by 2030, and I want to help them get there. Help me stop men dying too young.

While the cycling was a welcome distraction during the recent lockdown, the sad part is that during the 28 hours I’ve spent riding my bike, over 1600 men world-wide will have died by suicide. Movember are aiming to reduce male suicide by 25% by 2030, but they need our help.

A massive thanks to everyone who has donated so far (including the anonymous donor I haven’t been able to work out).

Day 30 - Week 4 (and a bit) done.

Last day for the mo :( I had been planning on keeping it until the next Dad’s night out but given that will be a few weeks away (at least) Gail and Dominic have put their collective feet down, so I’ll be baby faced again from tomorrow.

The creak from my steed turned into a full blown mechanical that disrupted this weeks routine. Luckily, my bike man was able to find replacement parts at short notice and get me back on the road in time to complete my 600km challenge. Strava even gave me an achievement for it!

Day 22 - Week 3 done. The Mo is still coming along nicely, although it’s disappointing that it’s more salt than pepper now. Next year I reckon I’ll be able to let it roll into December and I’ll be ready to play Santa. The weather has been less kind this week, but I’m still on track to make the 600 km. I think the legs will make it. Fingers crossed for my creaky steed.

Day 15 - Week 2 done and the mo is getting long enough to blow in the wind (which is always a weird feeling). Still on target with the cycling (not as lucky with the weather this week). The legs seem to be used to going out on back-to-back days now. Hopefully that's a good sign for the rest of the month.

Best of luck with the ride. Suggest you go for a narrow and pointy tache, less wind resistance when peddling !! M & D

Day 8 - First week done. The Mo is starting to come along (although I'm not sure I've settled on a style for this year) and I'm just about on track with the cycling. The weather has been kind this week, fingers crossed it holds up (along with my legs).

Good luck - don’t worry, Gail, the tache will be gone by the end of this lock down....and if not, he’ll be 600km away!!!!

Day 1 - Ready to Mo!

There's a strong possibility that by the end of Movember I'll have more hair on my face than what's left on my head.

Not the best start to the cycle challenge as my bike is out of action until (hopefully) tomorrow. Fingers crossed I should have enough time to catch up.
