Movember started in 2003 with a group of 30 mates who came together to have some fun and bring back the moustache. In 2010, there were more than 450,000 Citizens of Movember around the world all doing their part in changing the face of men’s health.
The Mo Bros & Mo Sistas who make up this growing community are found everywhere and come from international and local companies, sports clubs, unis, restaurants, bars and retail to media, music and arts scenes. By becoming walking billboards for men’s health, Mo Bros, supported by Mo Sistas, have spread positive health messages far wider than ever anticipated and continue to raise awareness and funds for men’s health with their passionate support of Movember.

Movember in the community
OXO Tower London
Harvey Nichols Restaurants each year run a Movember dessert and Mo-jito on the menu. They also hosted the 2nd Movember Long lunch at the iconic OXO Tower restaurant in London. A fantastic event bringing together Mo Bros & Mo Sistas from all over London and raising lots of money in the process. The team at 64th & Social in Clapham and The Botanist in Sloane Square also got behind the cause with Movember providing a great way to interact and engage customers while raising the important issue of men’s health.
Mo Running
For the second year running the team at The Fix have hosted Mo Running, a series of fancy dressed fun runs where the Mo is the winner every time. With 5km & 10km runs in London’s Battersea and Greenwich parks, and another 10km jog in Milton Keynes, over 3000 fit folks hit the pavement to raise funds and awareness for Movember, while enjoying the opportunity to do something healthy.
Barbers
In cities and towns across the UK, local barbers got on board and provided expert grooming advice and free mo styling for dedicated Mo Bros in their areas. These barbers provided fun hubs and hangouts for participants throughout the month for guys who donated their upper lips for Movember.
YMCA London
The guys at Central YMCA in London decked out the front of the health centre with Movember campaign banners and had discounts on memberships throughout the month. The central London location meant that millions of people walked past the windows and saw the banners every day.
Bravo Channel
“Movember partnership was hugely successful as both a staff and customer engagement tool. The combination of a channel takeover in the form of Brav-Mo - with social media and a series of real world events led to a massive recruitment drive of team members. The Movember team gave us all the resources and support we needed and made it a huge amount of fun. I wouldn't hesitate to humiliate myself again.” - Jonathan Webb, Bravo, UK
Rugby Players Association
"All the boys at London Irish, and throughout the professional rugby clubs of England, enjoyed the opportunity to promote awareness of prostate cancer and raise money for Movember. Through the Rugby Players' Association (RPA), all the clubs tackled the challenge of growing some weird and wonderful Mo's (fun to compare after smashing each other for 80 minutes) and we hope to raise even more this year again for what we all realise is a great cause". - Chris Malone. London Irish, Rugby Players’ Association Vice-Chairman.
Cricket UK
"We had a great uptake from our players and members of the general public in our challenge to support Movember by raising more money than any other sporting organisation. Having members directly affected by prostate cancer makes this vitally important cause all the more worthy. £10,712 and finishing 26th overall in the UK was great, but we’re aiming to do better in 2011!" - Jason Ratcliffe. Assistant Chief Executive, Professional Cricketers' Association, UK
